Class of '84 School Reunion ......

Yesterday I went to my first school reunion. I can't believe that it was nearly 25 years ago that I left school.

Not bad for a bunch of 40 odd year olds !!!

I was very excited & nervous as I hadn't seen some of the gals since I left school all those years ago. We all met up at The Spa Hotel in Tunbridge Wells at 12pm.

I can't describe how great it was to see everyone, especially Sam & Kate who I had kept in contact with up until about 10 years ago. The time went by far too quickly. Unfortunately I couldn't go to the evening meal as I had to leave at 8pm as my cousin was babysitting. I can't wait to met up with everyone again, there is nothing like renewing old friendships. Hope you all had a great evening gals & that you had a drink or two on me.

Falling in Love ......

Yes I have fallen in love...... with a beautiful terrace country cottage. It is the perfect home for the little men & me. It is in the next village but only a 5 minute drive away.

It is about 3 hundred years old with beams & a wood burning stove in the sitting room & the master bedroom is amazing. The garden is gorgeous & quite large ( maybe enough room for some chickens!). There is even a large summer house at the bottom of the garden with lighting & heating, my perfect hide away!!

I am going to view it on Thursaday morning, can't wait. There are a few down sides though, no driveway, only two bedrooms & a little out of my price range. But I am a great believer in saying "Never say never".

Oh How I Love June ......


June is such a wonderful month, there is so much colour around. Everything is beginning to bloom in the garden. I have so many wild foxgloves this year that I have been giving them away to friends.

The roses are starting to make an appearance

I'm off to the garden centre to get some bedding plants, bye for now.

Why I Blog ......

I have really enjoyed blogging these past two months. I have been thinking of reasons why I started, & I have come to the conclusion that it is because I am using it as a diary. It is a great way of writing down what the little men & I are up to. It will be nice to look back in a years time or more to see how much the little men have grown & for them to read as well (once they can read!!!!)

I also love showing my knitting & crochet projects, though I haven't had much time lately to do any. I hope you people out there enjoy reading my blog & I would love to hear from you so please leave a comment or two to let me know.

Shopping in Tunbridge Wells ......

Wow, what a busy half term we've had, we certainly haven't been bored.

Yesterday we went to Tunbridge Wells with Jo. The town is divided into two halves, the top end where the shopping mall is & the bottom end with the High Street & The Pantiles. I much prefer the bottom end with its individual little shops & cafes, so this is where we headed for.


First we went to Hoopers Store, I love the kitchen department.


These bowls & plates would be great for a children's party ......

We then walked down to The Pantiles for a spot of lunch at the Duke of York, my old watering hole when I was younger, & window shopping.

Then we walked back up the High Street & of course we had to go into Kath Kidson. I was very good & didn't buy anything this time.

Look at this sweet crocheted tea pot & cups that was in a childrens shop.

A Very Long Country Walk .......

My friend Beckie likes everything that is large. She has seven children, drives a Toyota Land Cruiser has two St Bernards, Diesel & Misha, two Maine Coon cats, Jazz & Madison, a rabbit & this morning she bought 5 chickens & a cockerel.

She invited us over to see the new arrivals, which the little men were very excited about.

Beckie suggested we take the dogs for a walk. Thinking she meant just to the end of her lane & back I said "yes great", little did I know.....

It ended up being an 1 1/2 hour trek ......

It was a lovely walk & the little people enjoyed it, though everyone was pooped out at the end & I was gasping for a nice long cold drink.

Heathfield Show......

Today the little men & I went to the Heathfield show with friends Beckie, H & baby P. I have never been before, why? What a brilliant day out for the family, so much to see & do. We packed up a picnic of cold chicken, sausages, french bread, crisps & yummy goodies.

The boys loved watching the monster trucks flattening cars!


Yummy food, why does it always taste nicer outdoors?



Loved all the animals on show & for sale, I was very tempted to buy some Quails, they are so sweet & their eggs are yummy too.


What a handsome chap & very proud of himself.


Oh how I long to have a place like my parents old house that is big enough to have hens & ducks & to have a vegetable garden, maybe a small orchard too.

There where lots of stalls selling local produce, cheeses, breads, jams & wines to name a few.

There was a bouncy castle & slide for the children that was very popular, though rather expensive at £1.50 for 2 slides.

We all really enjoyed ourselves & the weather stayed nice too.
