Beware of the Scarecrows ......

Every year our village holds a Scarecrow Festival in aid of the Sussex Air Ambulance. All the shops & businesses make scarecrows & display them around the village. There is also stalls selling crafty things, jewellry & plants.

This year the chemist won 1st prize for their Tin Man made from tin cans.

On A Roll ......

I am really whizzing along with my Ripple & Granny blankets now. I have about 10 inches left to do on the Ripple, I am just waiting for some more of the pink to arrive & then hopefully it will be fininshed by next week, horray!!

I am in love with my Granny, 38 down 42 to go. The colours are much deeper in colour than the photo show. I can't wait to see them both fininshed.

I am going to do a wide border, but i'm not sure whether to do strips or just one colour.

A Day Out At Drusillas ......

Last Friday the Nursery arranged a day out at Drusillas Park. We all met up at 10.30am at the park & where issued with stickers, then in we went.
We had 2 hours to wander around before the little people had to meet up for a talk with one of the animal keepers, which gave the adults time for a coffee & chat.

The little people loved seeing all the animals, especially the monkeys. I loved the lemmas they have such sweet little faces.

I also loved the raccoons, they always remind me of masked bandits.

We ended up in the wonderful play area where we all had our picnic lunch. Then the little people were off exploring, climbing & playing.

After a long lunch break we walked round to Thomas the Tank Engine for a ride around the park which the little men loved, they had enormous smiles on their faces as they waved to everyone.
Then it was time for ice cream !!!

I think we where the last to leave out of our group, the time just flow by, it is such a great day out & a great way to wear the little people out. The little men fell asleep after only 5 mins into our journey home.

Hooking ......

When I started this blog it was mainly to show off my knitting & crochet projects, but there hasn't been much of that has there!!

I seem to be caught up with the little men's social & school life & the day to day running of a home & garden, not that I am complaining mind you. I just haven't had much time for sitting down & picking up a pair of needles or crochet hook.

I also must confess that I have been a little hooked on Facebook recently, naughty, naughty !!
But I have given myself a strict talking to & I pulled out my blankets at the weekend & have been hooking as much as free time will allow.

I read Lucy's post at Attic24 for 4th July & it gave me a boost, I really would love to see my Ripple & Granny Blankies finished & on show on the sofa's. They give such a lovely splash of colour to a room.

I have done 26 squares so far, 54 to go.
